Moisture Hacks

thumbnail_fullsizerenderWhat do you do when you buy those sweet smelling lotions but then you end up feeling like apart from the sweet scent, the moisturising effect is not so much and or its absolutely not there? You start wishing that if only it would give you that silk, soft skin then you would be even more satisfied with it. Well here are a few ways what to do to achieve the full moisture effect .

  • Mix the lotion with glycerine.
  • Mix the lotion with aloe vera gel.
  • Add olive oil, coconut oil, vitamin E oil and or almond oil to the lotion.
  • Buy a moisturising lotion which you know works but smells milder and mix it up with the lotion.
  • Whip some Shea butter, mango butter and or Cocoa butter with the lotion.

You can choose any of the above ways or combine some of them.

You can either do this during the time you apply the lotion on your body or mix it up after you buy it to have it prepared which saves you time and extra work.

For kids, the petroleum Jelly is just perfect. If you want only natural products you can whip some Butters ( last bullet point) and add some vitamin E oil, coconut oil and aloe vera gel. Use essential oils for smell/fragrance.

At the moment, when am at home, I use the Palmers cocoa butter which is a real deal when it comes to hydration and moisture. I don’t add any extra ingredient to it. For travelling I have my Victoria’s secret (mango temptation)  mixed with glycerine and vitamin E oil.

If you have any other way/ idea on how you do the moisture hack, feel free to share it by commenting or send a p.m 🙂

summer Love

fullsizerenderAs we sadly bid Summer goodbye, I want to share some of the cool places here in Vienna near the river and or with a swimming possibility.

First of all, I will start with the Schönbrunnerbad. It is located in the Vienna’s 13th District (Hietzing) which contains a large area of Vienna Woods and the Palace Schönbrunn. They Have 3 different Swimming areas. The place is very clean and gives you a feeling that you are at a Holiday destination.

Second place is the Donau island, there are so many things to do here, Swimming, Inline skating, grilling, biking, games for kids and many more. There are several Restaurants and cocktail Bars. There is also a section with Stands for drinks and beach chairs where you can lie, relax and sunbath.

Beautiful sunset at the Donau Island

Last and most favourite is the Hilton Danube waterfront Kitchen. This Place is Amazing, they have a very big Terrace, they have the bar Menu which you can choose from at any time and which is also quite affordable and the Restaurant Menu which is restricted for certain hours. You can also hire the bikes here and enjoy biking along the Danube. I wish it was the beginning of Summer so I can enjoy this place more as I just “discovered” it few days ago.

Stripes and Burgundy

If you have been following my posts, then you know by now how much I love spontaneous activities. Yesterday I had another spontaneous lunch date with one of my great friends. She is always inspiring me to go for my dreams. I started the day by dropping my Little One to the kindergarten, then went to pick up my other bestie from the Hospital. Afterwards I went back home to change my Clothes,do some touch up then went for the photoshoot before  heading to the city centre to meet my pal.

Since our lunch date was at Park Hyatt, I had to go for elegant outfit. I chose the Burgundy trousers to break the monotony and of black and white; as well as to pop in some colour (well yes I will admit that I really love colours they fit well to the sunny days and they brighten up the gloomy days)

Even though I had forgotten about the Vogue Fashion night, which took place at the same street,( Goldenes Quartier) the outfit did fit to it perfectly. I received complements about the outfit and some asked if they could take some photos.

Wishing you all a lovely Weekend ahead….

Today’s look is what I am still wearing right now as I write this post :-)On my to do list today was a coffee and Thai massage appointment with my best friend who is also behind most of my Awesome photos which you always see.

I opted to wear something casual and which would be easy to remove at the massage parlour. I love this ripped jeans as they have elastic waistband, which makes them super comfortable. I paired them with my official Butterfly blouse, which I have actually never worn since the day I bought it. To complete the outfit, I went for Flat Black Patent pointed Toe Shoes and a Black Blazer.

We came across this Beautiful store where they manufacture and sell Porcelain, it is such a lovely store, the setting gives you a feeling of being at home. They have Amazing Handmade utensils, We had our photo-shoot there, we were lucky that the photo-shoot was indoors as during the shooting, it poured down heavily. Well Autumn is definitely around the corner 🙂

I wish you guys a happy new week.

Black and White affair

Black is most of the time relegated to simplicity and White on the other hand to Elegance. The moment I saw this dress hanging I, I instantly fell in love with it. I quickly took it and paid for it without even trying it on, I felt that it was sewn just for me. 🙂

Having a dinner date and a night out with the girls and friends on Wednesday night I didn’t spend so much time like I always do when it comes to picking something to wear, well you know that feeling where you have something new and you have been dying to “show it off” I Prepared myself and then tried on the dress. It did fit perfectly, just as I had imagined me in it the moment I saw it in the shop. I was literally feeling myself more like an “African Queen”

The combination of elegance and simplicity is just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G…

Happy New Month, make every second count, don’t let these days go to waste. Don’t let anyone make you negative or unhappy because as they say, “Happiness is the only thing worth fighting for in your life”

Sun Kissed

It had been long since I got out of the house… This particular day I actually had planned to  go to my doctor to get a different prescription and also to the Photo studio for just one Photo, which was needed for some great things, which will be coming up soon. I can’t wait to share with you guys, just waiting for the right time. Since I was still a bit weak and sick, I called a great friend of mine to pick me up and drive me around for the errands. It was such a hot day we later on went for a swim and as the yard is so beautiful and clean, I decided to do a quick photo-shoot there as well. It was fun, I am grateful to have such a reliable Friend I can count on….

Here are a few Photos, I love the dress as it is elegant and comfortable at the same time. Perfect for a Job Interview, Business Meeting  or any official event.

Oh by the way I changed the posting days to Monday and Thursday. Thanks for keeping it #Celrielle

Healthy Living

Fennel, Turkey breast and some cashews

There is a big difference when you become a doer than being a talker. I thought of how different my life was like when I was back in Africa as compared to here. I used to eat more vegetables and fruits and not too much meat and my health was better and my immune system even stronger. Thinking of both Grandparents who were still pretty strong physically to the point of their last breath (may their precious souls R.I.P) also made me decide to change my lifestyle.

It occurred to me that, especially since I started dining out more often than I would cook, I would end up ordering mostly meat (Red meat) all the time especially as I love Lamb meat so much. I was also the Kind of person who never took a thing for breakfast, well except for a glass of water (sometimes) I am currently on a 7 day no red meat challenge and I have become that person who takes a glass of Fresh pressed/squeezed Juice or smoothie. I started this when I had already fallen ill but I didn’t want to postpone because well it’s always either now or “never”

I also plan to increase my water intake, as that is one part I am still not so good at. Well today is my #Day3 and I got to tell you guys, it’s not so easy as now is when you go to Instagram and land on that picture of slow cooked Beef or oxtail. But I promise to stay disciplined.

Here are some of my red meat free Dishes which I like… Enjoy

P.S: If you would like a recipe of any any of the Dishes, feel free leave a comment or send m a message.

The Underwater World

There are those things which I at times keep planning to do and then I just end up taking forever or sometimes never doing them as I totally forget. I have been living here for couple of years and in that time i have always wanted  visit the Big building here  called “Haus des metres” which if translated in English would be “House of the sea” It Finally came to pass a few days ago. It was a phenomenal experience, especially as I went with my daughter who doesn’t just give great company but also seems to love water and fish. On the roof top there is an amazing view of whole of Vienna, which is another breath taking thing.

As always here are a few Photos I took to share with you guys 🙂

………Peace and love………

Here are a few pics from the Rooftop, and of the cute Star fish in the aquarium inside the Building…

Fine Dining

Steak house at Ritz carlton

If you are a great cook or someone who has a good taste in food, you seem to have higher expectations when it comes to dining out. This may result to having just a few favourite restaurants, which you know you can rely on. My love for good food led me to loving Gourmet restaurants and the so-called fine dining. I seem to dine out more often these days than I did before, I don’t just restrict to gourmet restaurants though, I also love the African restaurants especially the Ethiopian restaurant, it’s a pity that there isn’t a Kenyan restaurant here. The similarity between these places is that, the food is not only delicious and divine  but rather the service is normally also outstanding. You will find yourself wanting to go there again and again.

Here are a few pictures to share with you from some of the places… Enjoy 🙂
